With wonderful beers like Oerbier (Original), Stille Nacht (Silent Night Christmas beer), Arabier, Boskeun (Easter beer), Dulle Teve (Mad Bitch) and a unique Belgian interpretation of a Stout, De Dolle Brouwers is a Craft Brewing in every sense of the word. Continuing the brewing tradition, Kris and his one of his brothers purchased the brewery after winning an award in Brussels' Grand Place Brewers Guilde competition (with Oerbier) in 1980, focusing on special beers higher in gravity, showcasing the seasons. Kris has also been working with different barrels and aging some of them for special releases or special reserve. By placing fully fermented Oerbier, Stille Nacht and Dulle Teve, all the alcohol percents has risen in these brews with help from the barrels prior liquid: Calvados and Bordeaux. But magic also happens during aging on the wood, causing a increased depth of flavors, vanilla, tannin, oak, butterscotch, and other nuances that under direction of a serious brewer, make something very special to age and share with close friends.
If you are in the area of Esen on Sundays around 2:00 pm, stop by for a tour. De Dolle is also open on Saturdays too...
